I see Jester's destressing skill as something you'd oh-shit equip mid-run after you got unlucky and the stress stacked on one person, but not something you'd upgrade first hoping it'll manage stress the first map. He also doesn't play well with other destressers because if your stress is sitting at 5, you have to decide whether to hold onto Ounce so that character gets pushed to 6, or just to use Ounce to try to gradually lower it. It's better to just persistently keep stress below 4 instead of wiping it in one big go. It can work well with taunt tanks that can stack all the combat stress on themselves, but it's definitely not something you want early game - it'll slow the snowballing but it'll prevent you from building positive relationships because you have to spend too much time stressed. Add in Jester's and that means almost every single character has some way of managing stress - this means it's not a locked in PD meta after all (although some in-battle healing does help, even if it's not as essential with the wagon auto-heals - Runaway is supposed to be an okay healer too though, although Occulist isn't that great from what I've seen).Įven then, it requires you to pile up your stress to 6 to drop down to 3 - which is better than 4 but the problem is now your characters are gonna be accumulating negative relationships on their way building up that stress. So that actually brings it to 3/9 characters (MAA, PD, Hellion) that have strong AoE stress heals and 2/9 that have strong self-target stress heals (Leper, GR), that'd I'm aware of. Definitely really good to spam at the end of non-road fights.

Party wide 1 stress heal plus 2 stress and healing for herself, and it only has 1 cooldown, not 3. Jester is actually a pretty bad stress healer - his can only be used at 6 stress and only drops it to 4 unupgraded, which still is above the threshold.Īctually - I think Hellion is the best destresser so far if you put some work in to unlock her skill (it's three shrines in IIRC).
